The Landscapes Behind Costurero Real

Some collections start with a fabric.

Others begin with a place.

A forest, a lake, a path that disappears into the mist, or a landscape so strange it seems impossible for it to exist.

Over the years, certain places have quietly become part of Costurero Real.

Not just as backdrops for photographs, but in a much deeper way, because they have shaped our way of imagining fantasy.

Montseny

Montseny is probably the place we return to the most.

It's just over an hour from Barcelona, but it always feels like crossing an invisible border into another world.

We have done more than twenty photo shoots there, especially around Lake Santa Fe.

My favorite time is February and March, when the snowmelt refills the lake and the ancient beech forest looks like something out of a fairy tale.

Moss. Cold air. Water. Ancient trees.

It is one of those places where Costurero Real truly feels at home.

Dartmoor

Dartmoor came into my life thanks to a fairy fair held in Glastonbury.

I started traveling there with a suitcase full of dresses and a few extra days reserved just for taking pictures.

For a long time, I thought Wistman's Wood was the most magical place I had ever visited.

But over time, Bellever Forest gradually won me over.

The moss. The wild horses. The stone circles. The immense empty expanses of the moor.

And the fog.

Once I got completely lost in it, something that turned out to be terrifying and magical in almost equal proportions.

Dartmoor possesses a sense of antiquity that is difficult to explain.

Iceland

Iceland was my sister's idea.

We traveled there in June, under the midnight sun, and it turned out to be a photographer's dream.

Hours and hours of golden light.

Black sand. White and blue ice. Reddish mountains. Lava fields covered in moss.

In the evenings, when most organized groups had already returned to their hotels, we could visit some places practically alone.

It was like traversing several different worlds in one day.

I still feel that Iceland is an unfinished place for me.

Someday I would like to return and photograph it again.

And many places still remain

There are also Galicia, Scotland, Ireland, the Basque Country, and the Dolomites.

I believe some places end up staying within the clothes.

And perhaps that is why many people tell us that our garments seem to belong to a specific place, even if they don't know exactly which one.

I believe that, in some way, all those landscapes remain within Costurero Real long after we have returned home.
